Ask the Major Parties
Here are some questions that you might want to ask your Republican and Democratic leaders:
Republicans – as a Republican
Ask Mr. Porter how he voted for the 2006 Military Commissions, just before the elections of 2006. It states that an "enemy combatant" is anyone that the President, or his representative, deems an enemy combatant, no proof or suspicion needed.
Ask Mr. Porter how he voted on the US Fiscal Year 2007 Defense Authorization Bill. Which basically allows the President to declare martial law and to mobilize the National Guard of any state in case of emergency, without the consent of the Governor, which the President alone is able to define, and he can use them in other states.
Ask Mr. Porter how he voted on the energy bill that included the ethanol subsidy fiasco.
Ask Mr. Porter how he, as a fiscally responsible Republican, voted on every Bush backed spending bill.
Ask Mr. Porter how he voted to override Bush's veto on the recent “torture” bill.
Ask Mr. Porter how he voted on the bankruptcy law written by MBNA.
Ask Mr. Porter how he voted on the Medicare Part D question, just before the 2004 elections, when there was no discussion on how it would be paid, or no bargaining with the pharmaceutical companies.
Ask Mr. Porter why he voted for the 290 billion dollar farm subsidy bill.
Ask Mr. Porter, that after 5 years of getting a Zero rating by environmentalists, why he is now proposing hybrid cars as taxis? Sounds like FOTM (flavor of the month).
Ask Mr. Porter, that after five years as a strict Bush “yes” man, why is he trying to distance himself from Bush now? Another FOTM!
Democrats- as a Democrat
Ask why they constantly shoot themselves in the foot. The in-fighting for a Presidential candidate will probably cost them the election.
Ask how Attorney General Mukasey was confirmed, when the Democrats had the majority, and he refused to admit that water-boarding was torture.
Ask why Bush and Cheney are not impeached.
Ask why they continue to fund the Iraqi War.
Ask why the Super-delegates are going to determine their Presidential candidate.
Ask why the Nevada convention was a fiasco.
Ask Shelly Berkley why she voted for the 290 billion dollar farm subsidy bill.
Ask why Dina Titus refused to run when the registered voters were equally split between Republicans and Democrats, but rethought her position when there was a 20,000 majority for the Democrats in her district.
Ask why Jack Carter was the candidate for Senator in 2006, when there was question as to whether he lived here.
Ask Dina Titus how, after 20 years as a state legislator, our state financial failure came about.
